A Study of the Influence of Sherlock Holmes Detect on Detective Story of Huo Sang
Abstract: Detective Story of Huo Sang, as a pioneer of Chinese modern detective novel, owes much to Sherlock Holmes Detect. This paper, on the basis of scholars’ achievements, uses the influence study in comparative literature to make a close analysis of the relation between Sherlock Holmes Detect and Detective Story of Huo Sang. In order to prove the latter accepts lots of artistic skills from Sherlock Holmes Detect, such as the figures of detective, the narrative pattern and so on. Detective Story of Huo Sang also shows much Chinese culture conception. Through the comparison of them, we can clearly see the relations of the western detective novel and lecture of China, as well as the characters and value of Detective Story of Huo Sang.

前言
人类文化发展到二十世纪，已逐渐摆脱了封闭、孤立的地域和种族文化限制，开始朝着现代的、开放的、彼此交融的世界性的文学发展。在这样一个空前繁荣的文学时代，个人的文学作品已不再属于单纯的、民族的产物，它们不断被翻译、传播，成为具有世界性的文学作品。在这股潮流的推动下，西方侦探小说大量涌入中国，柯南•道尔笔下的神探福尔摩斯因其智慧缜密的头脑、勇敢无畏的勇气、公正法制的精神赢得了中国读者的追捧，福尔摩斯探案故事更是以新颖独特的叙事手法，跌宕起伏的情节引发了学界对侦探小说的翻译热潮。
1896年8月起，上海《时务报》先后刊登了张坤德翻译的《英包探勘盗密约案》等四篇侦探小说，这是福尔摩斯第一次被介绍给中国读者。[1]随后，翻译、模仿柯南•道尔的作家层出不穷，程小青便是其中之一。他在学习、模仿福尔摩斯探案的前提下，结合中国的文化背景和社会现状创作的《霍桑探案》，开创了中国现代侦探小说的先河。通观《霍桑探案》，我们不难发现其在叙事模式、人物形象塑造等方面对福尔摩斯探案的模仿和借鉴，同时我们也可以看到作品中浓郁的中国本土色彩。
一、《霍桑探案》对福尔摩斯探案的模仿、借鉴
随着西方侦探小说“翻译热”的到来，十年间，程小青曾先后两次参与福尔摩斯探案系列的翻译工作。这两次的经历不仅点燃了程小青对侦探小说的创作激情，而且帮助他掌握了侦探小说的写作方法和技巧，为创作《霍桑探案》打下了良好的根基。
