Title A Study of Violating the Cooperative Principle in TV Talk Show——Based on the program Intimate Talk with Li Jing
Abstract
The Cooperative Principle plays an important role in our daily life. However, in practical communication, people violate the Cooperative Principle in order to reach some goals. In recent years, TV talk shows spring up and lead to a new wave of research. This paper firstly introduces the definition of the Cooperative Principle which makes a theoretical basis for the paper. Then based on the famous TV talk show—Intimate Talk with Li Jing, the paper focuses on the phenomenon of violating the Cooperative Principle in three aspects, namely, finding out the phenomenon of violating the Cooperative Principle in the program between the host and guests and analyzing reasons and effects. Hopefully, the paper can help understand the implication of the Cooperative Principle and help audience to understand the conversation of TV talk show better.

1 Introduction
Since in daily life people need to communicate with others, people have to observe some principles in order to complete the dialogue during communication. These principles have gradually been more and more important in daily communication, and people always have a conversation based on such principles. Nevertheless, sometimes people violate such principles out of some purposes, which to some extent brings conversational implication. Also, the phenomenon has been common in a lot of conversations.
As media industry rises, talk show can be watched more in television or internet. In talk shows, there are a large amount of conversations, which contains the phenomenon of violating the principles between hosts and guests. In this case, why both sides can violate the principles and what effect such violation creates are problems of great concern, which can help audience understand and enjoy the program better.
