从文学伦理学批评看奥尼尔的《榆树下的欲望》(3)
In China, the research on Eugene O’Neill and his works have been generally accepted since the 1920s. According to the database searching results, many of the papers spare no efforts in exploring the themes from the perspectives of psychoanalytic criticism, feminist literary criticism and so on. Some scholars choose one character to discuss the relationship between characters’ traits of personality and the their tragic ending, or one image to reveal its symbolic meaning. Apart from that, many scholars focus on the analysis of O’Neill’s writing skills or its structure of tragedy, as well as on the comparative study on O’Neill and other writers. With Desire Under the Elms as the studying object, this paper will focus on the ethic relationship between husband and wife and the ethic relationship between two generations.
