The basic goal of the document is “ Since September 2001, English courses will be set up in the cities and counties all over the country. In the autumn of 2002, township primary schools gradually opened English courses, starting form Grade Three in primary school. The local authorities can decide the process and the teaching targets of setting English courses, based on the facts of the local situation.”
    Therefore, English learning in primary school has come into the mainstream all over the country, which spread form the main cities to countryside widely. whether in the city or in the country, even the pupils can use simple English greeting with each other, even can describe the simple things in English. However, to our surprises, English classroom the dominant teaching method is still the traditional teaching methods after English language courses have become one part of curriculum. In general, the normal teaching methods of English class is just teaching, excessive practice and homework. When the students learn English, they are just read after the teacher or read after the tape. This phenomenon is often seen in rural areas, because of the lack of electronic information technology. Situational teaching methods for many rural primary school teachers, is a totally strange word. Hence, I have to say that the rigidity of the traditional teachings are to obliterate the student’s curiosity, fun nature. With time going by, myriads of students lose interest in learning English gradually. As we all know, the interest is the best teacher to arouse students’ desire to learn English. So in order to solve the problem, we must kill them from the beginning, meanwhile, the initial stage must be based on the correct way to teach the students, to stimulate students’ interest in learning and to develop good habits of autonomously learning. The goal of the thesis is to stimulate students’ curiosity and thirst for knowledge so as to stimulate students’ interest in learning English, change from passive learning to active learning and to mention the relevant points of the situational teaching method, such as the definition, the functions, and so on.
