Sheng Shuhan in his paper—Looking the Chinese and Western Women Different Expression of Love from Emily Dickinson and Li Qingzhao’s poems , says, “both of them are eager for true love and insisting a belief in true love. But Emily Dickinson’s poems reveal a more enthusiastic viewpoint toward the pursuit of love than Li Qingzhao who keeps an indirect way to express her emotions.”
This paper is different from any other former studies. It is to discuss the love poems of these two female poets from their creative background and personal experience and different cultures to deepen people’s understanding of their poems and culture between the East and the West.
This paper mainly discusses the love poems written by Emily Dickinson and Li Qingzhao. It mainly consists of five parts. In the first part, the paper will introduce the research achievement of domestic and foreign scholars on Li Qingzhao and Emily in brief and sketch the meaning of their research and basic framework. In the second part, the paper describes the life experience of Li Qingzhao and Emily. In the third part, the paper will analyze the similarities and differences in their love poems. The fourth part will analyze the reasons of the differences in their loves poems. The last part is a conclusion.
