1 Introduction
With the coming of information age, the fusion and impact of Chinese and Western culture is the feature of the era. Therefore, it is such an important thing for us to learn more about Chinese Festival Culture and Western Festival Culture. Due to the different conditions of human’s living and development, the culture is different. Culture is the mixture of material wealth and spiritual values created by humans in the process of social history.
There are many elements in culture. Festival is a group activity in humanity and is also a phenomenon of culture. Traditional Festival is one of the important component and representation forms of the Traditional Culture. There is such an old saying: "each holiday of every nation reflects the most real side of the national culture" (Hou Genxiang, 2008:98). in the article the difference between Chinese and Western Culture from the Traditional Festival. Festivals are precious cultural heritage of different countries, so different festivals can reflect different cultures. The process of comparing the Chinese and Western Festivals and studying Western histories and cultures can help people promote the communication and understanding of different cultures (Xiao Xue, 2012:39)
