 A Study on Promoting Pupils’ English Reading Ability by Applying Phonics44099

Abstract

In the research on language learning, linguists find out that reading plays a significant role. People cannot get either knowledge or information without reading. Pupils’ reading ability, to a great degree, determines their language level. Phonics teaching can help pupils decode new words in their reading and promote their spelling ability. As long as they recognize the relationship between meaning and sound, they can infer the word’s meaning after recognizing it. 

This study, based on the reading development phase theory and mother language transfer theory, explores the effective role phonics plays in promoting reading teaching in primary schools. This study mainly uses the methods of the questionnaire survey and the teaching experiment.

 应用自然拼读法促进小学生英语阅读能力的实证研究

摘  要对语言学习进行的长期研究中,语言学家们发现,任何形式的语言学习均离不开阅读这个重要环节,人离开了阅读活动`吹冰*文+论]文|网\www.chuibin.com,就丧失了获取知识与信息的一个极其重要的途径。学生的语言学习水平在很大程度上取决于学生阅读能力的高低。自然拼读法教学可以引导学生在阅读中,根据字母和发音的关系解码不熟悉的单词并进行拼写。只要学生建立意义和发音的关系,他们可以在识别单词后联想口语词汇进而猜测单词的意义。

本研究根据阅读阶段理论和母语迁移理论,结合小学生英语阅读的现状,探讨自然拼读法教学对英语阅读教学的促进作用。本研究主要采用问卷调查和教学实验对比的研究方法。
