Because of their different origins and cultural development, China and the United States basketball is affected by history and culture of their respective countries. Performance characteristics of basketball culture, such as the main characteristics, ways of thinking, aesthetic ,源^自#吹冰*文·论~文]网[www.chuibin.comconcepts, management means are also different. And those differences are also the root of the strength gap between the two countries at the level of basketball sport. 

Therefore, according to their own national conditions, in-depth analysis of the basketball culture, we should absorb the advantages of the United States basketball and put forward  comments and suggestions to promote the development of basketball in China to further promote the health of our modern basketball sport and sustainable development.

1.2 Significance of the study

This paper is devoted to study differences in the characteristics of American basketball culture. Basketball sport, with the continuous progress and development of human culture, is a kind of sports culture. Under the influence of American basketball culture and production, Modern basketball sport is spread and developed. It is also a rich blend of political, cultural, economic connotation of sports. In the communication process, the essence of basketball culture carries the different nationalities, different regions, or even inpidual is reflected in the different cultural characteristics, such as the special speed and enthusiasm in the United States basketball sport,  flexibility in the Asian basketball sport, and the power in the European basketball etc. According to the interpretation of the chemical theory, the influence of culture on people's behavior is a kind of the process of osmosis, not human consciousness known before, so human behavior and thinking are unconsciously influenced by their own culture. 

Therefore, the exploration and development of basketball, is closely related to the characteristics of basketball culture and national culture and the national habits and cultural characteristics of basketball itself. So I am going to analyze the basketball sport from the level of basketball culture, which can help us more clearly understand the connotation and essential characteristics of the basketball.
