摘要英雄崇拜几乎在每一种文化中都存在，但由于中美两国在社会制度、价值观念及审美观念等方面的差异，两国逐渐塑造出各自不同的文化，对英雄主义概念的认识也有一定区别，这些区别也具体体现了中西方文化的差异。本论文旨在对中美英雄主义观念的差异加以比较，从文化的角度分析造成这种差异的主要原因，探讨中美两国文化的差异，进而使人们能理性看待中国的英雄主义、理解美国的英雄主义，认识到英雄主义观念所反映出的深层次的文化差异，从而更加尊重中美文化差异。49941

Abstract It is nearly existing in every culture that everyone admires the heroes. But due to the distinctions of the social systems, values and aesthetics, China and America generally shape their own different cultures and also have some tiny differences in realizing the conception of heroism, whereas these distinctions incarnate the persity in the Chinese and Western culture. This paper tends to compare different heroism conceptions between Chinese and Americans and analyze the causes of this phenomenon from the cultural perspective, so as to explore the cultural differences between China and America. What’s more, the paper aims to prompt the people to comprehend Chinese and American heroism on a reasonable basis. The cultural persities reflected by heroism conceptions could help people respect the cultural differences.

The Comparison and Analysis of Heroism in Sino-US Movies —A Case Study of Hero and Batman

I. Introduction

Culture, which has been defined as “a complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom, and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society” by Edward Burnett Tyler. Therefore, the persity of this world exists at all levels of cultural life due to the pergence of religions and values in history between the east and the west. Take the discrepancies of movie conceptions for example. Cultural differences result in movie conception discrepancies. Meanwhile these discrepancies incarnate the heterogeneity in the East-West cultures. Accordingly, this thesis tends to compare different heroic conceptions between Chinese and Americans. The aims of this thesis include two aspects as follows: to promote the understanding of cultural differences and to change the concept of making a movie by reforming the traditional cultural view towards the heroism.
