Abstract From the perspective of Freud’s personality structure theory, this thesis analyses the consciousness development in The Marriages between Zones Three, Four and Five written by Doris Lessing. With a vast, dimly discernible strange space as a writing background, Lessing records the progress of zones three four and five from isolation and hostility to intermarriage and unity with each other. In this progress, people’s consciousness keeps developing and improving. This thesis aims at studying the consciousness development of characters in the novel from the id, the ego and the superego in order to point out that with the constant development of consciousness, people are gradually beyond the id and the ego and eventually achieve the superego. Therefore it can be seen that The Marriages between Zones Three, Four and Five aims to elucidate these characters have the courage to break the bonds of convention and try to recognize, realize and surpass themselves in pursuit of freedom, equality and happiness. Until now many domestic scholars have spared no efforts to research the novel mainly from the perspectives of gender harmony and ecofeminism, but only few of them have studied the novel from Freud’s personality structure theory. As a result, the thesis opens a new world for the research of the novel as well as attracts more attention to Doris Lessing and her space fiction. In addition, it also shows the importance of consciousness, encouraging people to raise their own consciousness and strive for self-fulfillment, self-transcendence and liberty and happiness of lives.60787

摘要本文从弗洛伊德人格结构理论视角探讨多丽丝•莱辛科幻小说《三四五区间的联姻》中的意识的发展。莱辛以一个广袤无垠 、缥缈奇特的太空领域为写作背景，记录了三、四、五区间从孤立敌视到联姻融合的过程。在这一过程中，人们的意识也在不断地发展、进步。本文旨在从本我、自我、超我三个方面对小说中人物意识的发展变化进行深入研究，指出随着意识不断地发展，人们逐渐超越本我与自我，终于达至超我。由此可见，《三四五区间的联姻》意在阐释小说中人物勇于打破传统束缚，力求认识自我、实现自我、超越自我，力求追求自由、平等与幸福。国内学者对《三四五区间的联姻》的研究多集中在两性和谐和生态女性主义方面，极少有研究者从弗洛伊德人格结构理论视角研究。故此篇论文为《三四五区间的联姻》的研究提供一个新的角度，引导国人深入关注并研究多丽丝•莱辛及其科幻作品。另外，此文还体现了意识的重要性，鼓励人们在生活中发展提升自己的意识，追求自我实现与超越，追求自由幸福的生活。
