Diplomatic euphemisms exist in lexical as well as semantic level。 Communication is important for human beings, especially to those diplomats in that they deal with the relationships between regions or countries, so the words that they use must be more sensitive than common people。 On the contrary, their communication would not achieve their goals even affect relations between countries。 Because the function of euphemisms is using indirect words to express people’s need, it is necessary that statesmen usually use them。 They can use diplomatic euphemisms to solve problems or conflict caused by the differences between cultural or interests。 In fact, we can find some conversations that not properly produced by leaders in press conferences in that they didn’t notice the usage of diplomatic euphemisms。 All in all, the diplomatic euphemisms make a great contribution to diplomacy。
