摘要随着翻译研究的“文化转向”，翻译主体研究得到了更多的重视，并逐渐走向深入。张培基教授是中国知名的翻译家，他的译著和专著在学术界有着广泛的影响。本文通过定性和定量的研究方法,以译者主体性为视角来探讨张培基对中国散文翻译的策略和技巧：从原文的选择，翻译的目的，翻译策略的选取三方面分析翻译策略；从单词，句子，修辞和文化四个方面分析翻译技巧。希望本文能够推动对译者主体性的研究，深化对翻译活动本质的认识。83052

Abstract Along with the “cultural turn” of translation study, great attention has been paid to the translation’s subjectivity。 Zhang Peiji is a prestigious Chinese translator and his translation works have a wide range of impact in academia。 In this thesis, by means of the qualitative and quantitative research techniques, the author discusses Zhang Peiji’s prose translation strategies and techniques。 With the viewpoint of the subjectivity of translators, the paper analyzes the translation strategy from the aspects of the selection of the original texts, the purpose of translation, and the selection of translation strategies。 At the same time, the author analyzes the translation techniques from the aspects of words, sentences, figures of speech, and culture transmission。 The author hopes this thesis can promote the study of translator’s subjectivity and deepen the understanding to the essence of translation activities。

A Brief Analysis on the Translation Strategies and Techniques in Zhang Peiji’s Selected Modern Chinese Essays from the Perspective of Translator’s Subjectivity

I。 Introduction 

Nowadays, Translators shoulder the important task of helping people from various nations to communicate better。 We see clearly what great contributions it has made to the economic and cultural development of all nations。 Zhang Peiji opens up an especial trail in translation circles, that is, Chinese-English essay translation。 His Selected Modern Chinese Essays has been honoured as “not a textbook but better than a textbook” for it offers a mess of representive examples to illustrate general principles and techniques of translation。 What’s more, he makes a significant contribution in recommending Chinese culture to foreign countries and provides a new approach for westerners to understand China。
