Abstract：Dormition Church is an important ritual to all ethnic groups in the world. People find sustenance in here to the dead. Completing all the behavior of the living’s memory to the dead, pray, spiritual dialogue and so on. And Dormition Church is one part of urban space. In carrying soothe the pain of lost loved ones, facing the reality of life is limited, Establishing a living attitude towards life and the value of life to grasp the meaning of existence. It for urban public has a unique meaning rhyme. Dormition Church in many design, the elements,like water, light, shadow, the environment is the most in frequently use to create ethereal mood of Dormition Church. How to create a quiet atmosphere to make here to become a platform to connect the dead and the living is very worthy for me to explore.
