How the chain length affect the catalytic activity of dicarbene dipalladium complexes
Abstract:A series of [PdPyCl2]2(di-NHC) complexes were prepared. All complexes were fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. Studies show the distant Me substitution has big impact on the catalytic activity of the complexes with the shorter linker between two NHC (ethylene and propylene), but has a little or no effect on that of the complexes with longer linker (butylene and hexylene). Catalytic results of the arylation of styrene show that the remote substitute has big effect on the regioselectivity of the product in all complexes with shorter and longer linkers, but has a limited effect on the yield.

双咪唑双钯化合物的选择
在过去的数十年里,NHCs的过渡金属配合物由于其结构不同,容易获得,对热稳定,在水蒸气和空气中稳定,已经引起了相当大的关注。在NHC类化合物中大量的双齿NHC配体及其配合物得到了大量的研究。在这种配体中,两个NHC通过一个脂肪族链连接,如烷基醚链,或芳香链,苯和吡啶基链等脂肪族链。三种类型的金属配合物的形成(图1),都与链接链的灵活性和NHC的取代基的大小,位阻和多种类型的NHC环相关联。双核NHC配体中,带有脂肪族链-(CH2)n-的双核NHC是首先要考虑的。由于可以修改连接链的长度,很容易制备这类配体进行对照比较研究。
