(1) The concentration of caffeic acid methyl ester at 1.0% and 2.0% had significantly antifeedant effect against S.litura and Diaphania pyloalis larvae. The weight gain of  larvae of S.litura larvae was significantly slowed down by the continuous feeding test 7 days after digesting mulberry leaves amended with 2.0% caffeic acid methyl ester, while the intake of mulberry leaves with 1.0% and 2.0% concentration of caffeic acid methyl ester, the trend of the body weight decreasing of D.pyloalis larvae was more obvious. With the increase of the concentration of caffeic acid methyl ester, the survival durations of S.litura and D.pyloalis were significantly shortened, indicating that there was dose-dependent effect of caffeic acid methyl ester on the survival of the two larvae. Enzyme activity tests showed  that  the presence of caffeic acid methyl ester stimulated the activity of Glutathione-S-transferase. The activity of Glutathione-S-transferase of fresh mulberry leaves treated with caffeic acid methyl  ester (500 μg / cm2) was 79.55 U / mgprot, the  control  treat  was 41.39 U/mgprot.

(2) There were no significant differences in the life span, development time, cocoon weight and emergence rates of M.pulchricornis feeding with various concentrations of caffeic  acid  methyl  ester  at 100ppm,  500ppm and 1000ppm compared  with control.

(3) S.litura larvae feeding on different concentrations of caffeic acid methyl ester after parasitization by M.pulchricornis . The results indicated that concentrations of caffeic acid methyl ester at 4.0% and 5.0% inhibited the parasite rate of parasitic wasps. Similarly, concentration of 5.0% extended the development time of the offspring from eggs to adults and the  emergence  rate was not  affected.

(4) S.litura larvae feeding on different concentration of caffeic acid methyl ester after parasitization by M.pulchricornis . The results showed that concentrations of caffeic acid methyl ester at 2.0% and 5.0% inhibited the size of the progeny of M.pulchricornis. Concentration of 1.0%, 2.0%, 3.0%, 4.0% and 5.0% extended the lifespan of the offspring. 4.0% and 5.0% inhibited the parasitic rate, but the emergence rate was not affected significantly.

(5) With the aid of transcriptomics sequencing, we obtained four carboxylesterases (MpulCXEs) and five Glutathione-S-transferases (MpulGSTs). Bioinformatics analysis was about these genes also conducted. The qRT-PCR results indicated that, MpulCXE1, MpulCXE3, MpulGST3 and MpulGST4 expressed significantly at larval stage; MpulCXE2, MpulCXE3, MpulGST1, MpulGST2, MpulGST3 and MpulGST4 expressed significantly  in the cocoons of M.pulchricornis; MpulCXE1, MpulCXE2, MpulCXE3, MpulCXE4, MpulGST1, MpulGST2, MpulGST3, MpulGST4 and MpulGST5  didn’t  expressed significantly  compared  with  control.
