Abstract:This study adopts literature data method ,interview investigation and mathematical statistics on the present situation of college sports elective course .Through the analysis ,the option of university physical education has many problem is the low level of teachers, students learning enthusiasm is not high. To solve the above problems, suggestions are put forward: to speed up the construction of sports venues and facilities，take the students learning enthusiasm is not high. 南阳理工学院体育选项课开设现状调查与分析 前言
随着社会的发展，新世纪对人才要求不断完善，体育也越来越受到重视，体育改革也势在必行，关于教育部于2002年颁发的《全国普通高等学校体育课程教学指导纲要》指出，高校体育选项课在体育教学中的应用，是体育课程改革的一项实质性举措。
体育选项课教学开展是深化普通高校体育教学改革,实施终身体育教育与全面素质教育重要措施,树立“健康第一，以人为本”的指导思想，同时提出“要充分发挥学生主体作用和教师主导作用。在教师的指导下，学生应具有自主选择课程内容，自主选择任课教师，自主选择上课时间。大学体育教学的内容应有自己的特色，不能与中小学机械的重复，体育教学是学校教育不可或缺的重要组成部分。高等院校的体育教学，是学校体育的最后阶段，高校体育的成功与否关系到能否培养学生对体育的兴趣、爱好、及养成自觉锻炼的习惯。随着，应试教育向素质教育的转轨，要求高校把学生的终身体育意识、能力及生理、心理健康、社会适应能力何提高大学生生活质量，作为高校体育教学目标，提高体育选项课教学在普通高校教育中的地位和作用，根据自己的经历,就南阳理工学院情况以及大学生情况，随机抽取南阳理工学院2013级、2014级大学生400名，并通过现状调查与研究，实施体育选项课中存在的一些问题,针对问题提出相对建议。
