The National Spirit of Chinese Ancient Myth
Abstract: Myth is the product of national childhood fantasy, also is a kind of primitive culture formed by long-term development of accumulation and reflects the national initial state of survival,original belief and mental character.China’s ancient myths are not only the source of Chinese culture,but also the origin of the Chinese national spirit.It gives birth to the first national spirit and thought of the Chinese nation. Such as the national sense of crisis of disaster-ridden and hard work,national struggle spirit of perseverance and tenacity, the national dedication spirit of serve our country and people,bring benefit to future generations etc. Ancient myth is not only a piece of art treasures, but also a precious spiritual wealth for posterity. It also becomes the spiritual pillar that the Chinese nation stands among the peoples of the world.

前言
神话是一种古老的文学，具有无限的神秘感，不同国家的神话传说故事各有其特点。中华民族拥有悠久的历史、灿烂而古老的文化，其精神文化源头的上古神话传说也是丰富多彩的。“神话是原始人类对周围世界的自然现象和社会生活的最初解释，它用虚幻的想象和夸张的手法来反映人类战胜自然的愿望，真实地记录了各民族在它童年时代瑰丽的幻想、顽强的抗争以及步履瞒姗的足印，是民族的智慧、意识、兴趣、思文方式等的曲折表现。”[1]神话中蕴含着一个民族最早的信仰与智慧，反映了原始时期的初民们对自然和社会的初步认知。由此，神话亦可以被视为“民族精神中的最集中、最本色的闪光，是民族文化最悠久古老、最顽强健壮的生命之根，也是民族文化的本质特征所在。”[2]简易质朴的上古神话，不仅是华夏灿烂文化的源头，同时也是华夏民族精神的渊源。上古神话在一定程度上表现了上古人民与自然界的斗争以及对社会人生的探索。它潜在地折射出一个民族的思想文化的最初源头，并以其简单质朴的形式展现出了民族精神的内涵。
一、灾难深重、辛勤耕耘的忧患意识
黄河流域是中华民族的发源地，数千年前，这里的气候环境接近于亚热带，密林遍布，凶禽猛兽出没。在这样自然条件相对恶劣的环境中繁衍生息，先民们自然对环绕自己的山河湖海及周围出没的各种凶禽猛兽有一种惊惧感，他们为了生存而不断地与周边恶劣的自然环境作斗争，永不停歇地辛勤耕耘劳作。
