The New Analysis on the Imagine of Su Fang
In Peking Men of Cao Yu
Abstract:Su Fang is the central persona which is shaped in Peking Men by Cao Yu. She is a representative of the era of outstanding women, and Su Fang is an important character which left the readers a deep impression, because of her Oriental female ethics. The paper will start from the text and analysis the imagine of Su Fang from three aspects.First, we will discuss the advantages of Su Fang from some aspects, for example, she is kind and calm and selfless to sacrifice herself. Second, we will analyse the disadvantages of Su from other sides.She is resigned and lack of self.Third, we will expound the signification of Su from three ways:the play,the writer and modern people.Through the analysis and interpretation,we can sum the advantages and disadvantages of Su.This is very necessary for us to know more about Peking Men.

前言
《北京人》是曹禺40年代初的一部力作。它也是继《雷雨》、《日出》、《原野》之后曹禺的第四部经典之作，但是《北京人》一改前几部作品那种通过激烈的戏剧冲突勾勒人物形象、体现中心思想的结构，着意于平淡人生的直叙，揭示日常家庭生活潜隐下的封建制度的没落死寂和人生悲剧。
《北京人》通过北京的一个封建大家庭中的矛盾冲突以及人物的不同命运，展现了中国封建社会晚期没落的景象。在《北京人》中曹禺成功塑造了一批具有典型意义的人物形象，并把人物性格和命运形成的原因描画得十分清楚。愫方是曹禺在《北京人》中塑造的中心人物之一，温厚、慷慨、忘我、倔强、固执，是大多数评论家对愫方性格的评价。他们基本都认为愫方是一位利他主义者，她的形象体现了中国女性的坚韧与善良。他们都对愫方充满了最热忱的同情和怜悯，而没有看到愫方性格中的其他方面，因而缺乏应有的批评。愫方作为旧社会冲破封建桎梏走向新生活的优秀女性代表，在她哀静的外表下，在她善良的性格中，有着对生活执着追求的信念，有着对爱情的美好憧憬，但是她心甘情愿做封建阶级的殉葬品，这是不值得肯定的。
