Ambiguity of Meaning Study
Abstract: Ambiguity is the essential property of natural language and word-vagueness is a basic problem of linguistic studies. And this phenomenon is common in Chinese communication. Then this thesis illustrates the formation cause of word-ambiguity. As is known to us that there are many causes for its appearance, such as the ambiguity of the objective existence, the limitations of people’s cognition, the five elements of meaning and so on. Finally we will explore the applying value of word-ambiguity in linguistics, namely it can ease the tone, protect oneself and others and enhance the language value of literary works. The purpose of discussion word-ambiguity is to explain the fact that appropriate word-ambiguity does not block the communication between people, on the contrary, it can promote the communication of language and increase the amount of information of expression.

词义的模糊性研究
前言
词义模糊性在生活中是普遍存在的，它是语义学研究的重点问题。对于“什么是模糊性”，语言学家各有不同的看法，没有统一的认识。1965年美国专家扎德发表了《模糊理论》一文，提出了著名的模糊理论概念。他认为模糊集和是其成员构成的一个连续体。随后，这一理论引起了学术界的广泛关注，被应用于各种科学研究中。模糊语言学就是在模糊理论的基础上而形成的，是研究语言中的模糊现象的学科。模糊语言的研究与1970年形成初步规模，其中Lakoff的研究起到了重大的推动作用。自20世纪70年代，模糊理论介绍进中国以后，我国语言学家运用它解决了许多以前无法解释的问题，主要是对词汇层面上的研究。伍铁平的《模糊语言学》成为我国语言学研究的奠基之作。随后，张乔的《模糊语义学》、胡健的《试论模糊语义的特征》等著作，对我国模糊语言学的发展做出了不同程度的贡献。
