摘要普利策奖得主科马克·麦卡锡是当代美国最具影响力的作家之一，被誉为美国南方文学与西部文学的代表人物。他的第十部作品《老无所依》于2005年出版。由于中英语言文化差异，原作者独特写作风格，以及译者自身翻译风格等诸多因素，是以译文和原文很难完全一致，这也为英汉翻译研究提供了一次机会。接受美学是20世纪六十年代中后期出现的一种文艺美学思潮。翻译过程中译者必然经历接受活动，这一思想应用于翻译研究。本文采用文艺美学中的接受美学理论作为研究方法，采用曹元勇译本与原文对照进行分析，以期为翻译研究与实践提供一定的借鉴意义。87583
