《看管人》“品特式静默”研究

“品特式静默”研究——以《看管人》为例
摘要：2005年诺贝尔文学奖得主哈罗德•品特素有“静默大师”的美誉。他声称自己的戏剧里有两种形式的静默，一种表现为没有言语，另一种则以滔滔不绝的话语形式出现。《看管人》一剧运用了许多象征和比喻，对话常常停顿并出现静默的场面，具有代表意义。因此本文以《看管人》为例，分析作品中静默的三种形式——虚点、停顿和重复，以探究“品特式静默”及其成因。“品特式静默”的成因，除了主观性格因素，童年时在二战阴云下度过的哈克尼生活以及犹太身份都对他日后的创作产生了巨大影响。

1.Introduction
1.1 Pinter’s Early Life
Harold Pinter is the winner of Nobel Prize for Literature in 2005 and recognized to be a foremost playwright in the late 20th century. He was born in a Jewish family, and took up drama writing under the influence of anti-Semitic. Childhood memories of the lingering shadow about the World War II, as well as his Jewish life in Hackney, have profound effect on Pinter’s future writing creation.
Michael Billington introduces the early life of Pinter in the first chapter in Harold Pinter. Pinter was born in an ordinary Jewish family, on the account of not having siblings, he often felt lonely although his parents doted on him. Therefore, the garden with clove trees behind the house is fantastic Eden, where he would play with the imaginary partner. Indulging his fantasies, Pinter had forgotten the feelings of loneliness and fear and satisfied the desire to communicate with boys.
