Third, the paper proposes three important principles of metaphor translation: establishing the equivalent image in the target language, bringing out the connotation of metaphor, as well as seeking for the common ground and reversing the difference. According to these principles, two important strategies come out: domestication and foreignization. The following translation techniques are based on these two strategies. The author later gives a specific explanation about how those techniques are used from the cultural perspective.
In conclusion, this paper is to study metaphors from the cultural perspective so that help translators to translate correctly.
