汉语网络语言中流行语的翻译研究
First of all, I will give my profound gratitude to my tutor Prof. Wang for her priceless advice, important comments and diligent error correction during our discussion sessions. She constantly supervised and urged me to finish my dissertation. When I finished my paper, she spared no efforts to correct my mistakes paragraph by paragraph. Abstract
With the development of Internet, network language as a new linguistic phenomenon has caused wide concern in society. With the further study of network language, people begin to bring attention to another linguistic phenomenon---network catchwords. As a special language variant, the network catchwords take on cultural connotation out of semantic features.
In the translating the Chinese net languages into English, the translators may encounter some problems. In this paper, there are mainly four problems: (1) zero of equivalent word; (2) conflict of word meaning; (3) the same image with different metaphorical meanings; (4) different styles. Meanwhile, there are mainly four translation methods of Chinese net catchwords: literal translation, free translation, interpretation and substitution. In the future, we should keep track of the latest development in net catchwords; meanwhile, the translator should transfer the network catchwords to the target language accurately and efficiently.

摘要随着互联网的进一步发展，网络语言作为一种新的语言现象引起了社会的广泛关注。随着对网络语言研究的深入，人们开始关注伴随着网络语言带来的另一种新兴语言现象----网络流行语。网络流行语作为一种特殊的语言变体，具有超越语义特征之外的文化内涵。
在汉语网络流行语翻译时，译者可能会遇到许多问题。本文主要讨论了汉语网络流行语翻译的四个问题：(1) 没有相应的词语；(2) 单词意思的冲突；(3) 相同影像的不同隐喻意义; (4) 不同的风格. 同时，本文要讨论了几种主要的翻译汉语网络流行语的方法。今后译者应该关注网络流行语的最新发展，为更准确和更高效的翻译汉语网络流行语做出贡献。

1 Introduction
To study the translation of catchwords in Chinese net languages in recent years, we need to know its background, significance and structure.
With the continuous development of science and technology, the Information Age the Data Era has advanced into our life with big strides and the scale of Chinese internet users grows rapidly. The network language has become a necessary way for people at home and abroad to exchange views with each other for everything on the internet. Net catchwords are used as a certain kind of aspiration by the internet users through which they can express their viewpoints on some events or social problems. Net catchwords can also reflect various sorts of views on the state and society from all social classes and great change of a nation from the aspect of economy, culture and politics.
