They wish to keep pace with the time, so it is a good choice to apply Internet buzzwords into the subtitle translation to meet their needs.
Applying Internet buzzwords into American TV series and movies E-C subtitle translation, on the one hand, can meet the needs of modern people and follow the trend of era development. On the other hand, it is also a good way to make the subtitle translation to the creative and novel direction, which will be a great help for translators in the future translation.
1.2 Research Methodology
This thesis mainly pays attention to the well-known American sitcom 2 Broke Girls based on the Skopostheorie to analyze the Internet buzzwords applied in this TV. According to the basic principles of Skopostheorie, the purpose plays an important role in determining translation approaches, following the demands and expectations of the target audience with their cultural-specific knowledge.
The author will collect and research studies related to subtitle translation, Internet buzzwords and Skopostheorie carefully before carrying out this thesis. By studying the existing literature, the author will have more materials to get good command of the topic and finish this thesis better. Besides, those materials are conducive to build up the confidence of the author when writing this thesis.
