1.3 Contents of This Thesis As can be seen from the contents, this thesis mainly consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, significance of the study and the research orientation have been given in the previous sections. In this section, the main contents of this thesis will be introduced as followed. The second chapter is aimed to give a detailed introduction of both definition-based and corpus-based approaches, as well as showing a framework of the previous studies in which corpus-based approach has been applied into second language teaching. In the third chapter, the author will introduce the preparation and the procedures of the experiment, by listing the choosing of subjects and design of the tests and questionnaire, as well as scoring papers, data collection and analysis. The forth chapter will focus on the analysis of the test results in a very detailed way using descriptive statistical analysis, and then there will be a brief discussion based on the analysis. The last chapter is conclusion. In this part, the author will discuss the major findings and the limitations of the present study, also giving some suggestions for future studies.
