Abstract Gone with the Wind, This novel was created in the early 20 century. In Gone with the Wind, women’s intimate relation with nature is a contrast with that of men’s. Therefore, this thesis attempts to discuss the ecofeminism ideas in this novel through the lens of ecofeminism and the similarity between women and nature. By examining situations of women and nature under the domination by patriarchy in Gone with the Wind, this thesis hopes to call for human beings to think about how to balance the relationship between men and women, and how to get along well with nature.

I. Introduction
Gone with the Wind is a treasure of the world’s literature and it impressed people a lot. The background of this novel is the American Civil War. It not only shows a romantic love story but also the changes of South America in the 1960s. It won the Pulitzer Prize in 1937 and its influence was enlarged when it was made into movie.
With the development of technology and science, human’s life is more and more colorful and abundant. But the over-pursuing of material makes the relation between human and nature more and more tense. So it is very necessary to analyze literary texts from the perspective of ecofeminism. Only through the overcoming of human’s self- centered sense and treating nature equally, can human and nature, man and woman get harmonious relation. It also can make human understand nature better, and awake human’s conscious of protecting nature. It is hoped that this research will further the study of this novel and help to appreciate its themes.
This article will explore the ecofeminism implicated in this novel. The first part is a general introduction. Then the following part will be an overview of Margaret Mitchell’s living and creating background, with the next part fully discusses the feminist movement of thought in this work through a series of female characters and natural images. The last part is the conclusion. The conclusion summarizes the views of the thesis and suggests that the novel should be taken as a potential target of Eco-feministic studies.
