Daisy made use of Gatsby to meet her physical desire and made Gatsby become a “Daisy scapegoat” without any hesitation and mercy. Daisy looked like a fallen rose, though beautiful and charming, was so selfish and mammonish and was fickle in love. There was nothing but money that means a lot to Daisy. Nick witnessed the whole kindless and cruel society, and came back his hometown with deep disgust, being far away from the blatant, indifferent, hollow and illusory metropolis.
