Abstract Animation has a history of hundreds of years; undoubtedly, America is a powerful nation in animation production. Their animation films and animation series have made good box office in the world, also the Disneyland which is centered with the animated characters and scenes is far-famed. China is a catching-up nation in animation development. The cultural characteristics and national character of both countries show up in their own cartoon movies.48694

In the process of globalization, facing the American powerful culture exporting, Chinese culture has been greatly impacted and influenced. This thesis uses comparative method. It will analyze the differences between Chinese and American cartoon movies from the perspective of cultural differences. What’s more, it aims to inspire people’s cultural sensitivity when they appreciate the movie and improve people’s awareness and understanding of cultural differences between east and west, so as to guarantee the effective cross-cultural communication.

This paper falls into five parts. The first part serves as an introduction. It briefly introduces the Chinese and American cartoon movie’s situation. The second part describes the development of Chinese and American cartoon movies. The third part explores the differences of the Chinese and American cartoon movies on five superficial levels, which are themes, character design, artistic expression, music and social background. The fourth part probes into three cultural differences reflected by the cartoon movies, which are value difference, thinking mode difference and national personality difference. The fifth part functions as a conclusion.

摘要动画片已经有几百年的历史，而美国毫无疑问是一个动画制作方面的强国。他们的动画电影、动画连续剧在世界上取得不错的票房成绩，以动画人物、场景为中心的迪斯尼乐园更是闻名遐迩。中国是一个正在奋起直追的动画发展中国家。中美双方的动画电影体现出各自的文化特点和民族性。

在全球化进程中，面对着美国强有力的文化输出，中国文化受到了强烈的冲击和影响。本论文采用对比法，通过对比中美动画电影的各种表层差异，来分析东西方文化的不同，旨在激发人们在欣赏动画电影时对于不同文化的敏感度，从而提高人们对东西方文化差异的认识与了解，以此来保障跨文化交际的有效进行。

本篇论文共分为五部分。第一部分是介绍,源^自#吹冰\文-论|文]网}www.chuibin.com，主要介绍中美动画电影的现状。第二部分是对中美动画电影发展的概述。第三部分主要探讨了中美动画电影的差异，在主题，人物设计，艺术表现手法，音乐以及社会背景这五个浅层方面。第四部分则分析动画电影所体现出的文化差异，分别为价值观差异，思维模式差异，以及民族性格差异。第五部分是结尾。
