Abstract The Joy Luck Club (1989) is a best-seller written by Amy Tan. It focuses on four Chinese American immigrant families in San Francisco who start a club known as The Joy Luck Club. The three mothers and four daughters share stories about their lives in the form of vignette . 52859

In this novel, Amy Tan not only demonstrates the cultural differences of  marriage, education, mode of expression and other aspects between China and America, but also shows cultural conflicts. Mother-daughter relationship is the basic point for revealing the cultural conflicts, so as to explore whether two different cultures can integrate with each other. 

After giving a brief introduction of research on The Joy Luck Club, this thesis will probe into the causes of mother-daughter conflicts. By analyzing mother-daughter relationship, cultural differences existed in two cultures will be revealed as well as the causes of cultural differences. In addition, three questions need to be further discussed. What profound influences have the two different culture made on mothers and daughters respectively? Whether two cultures of different origins can be integrated ? And what is the resolution of culture conflict?

In conclusion, moving towards community of common destiny is an inevitable trend. So with the increase of international communication, communication skills are supposed to be improved. As long as cultural integration be based on understanding, respect, communication and love, moving towards community of common destiny is within reach.

摘 要《喜福会》由美国作家谭恩美所著的一本畅销小说，《喜福会》侧重描写四个华裔家庭的生活，他们在旧金山成立了一个俱乐部，取名喜福会。作者以短篇的形式与我们分享了三位母亲和四个女儿的生活故事。

《喜福会》不仅向我们展示了中美婚姻观，教育观,表达方式等方面的差异，也揭示了中美文化冲突。本文以喜福会中四对的母女关系为基点,揭示导致母女关系冲突的原因，最终揭示出隐含在母女关系后面的文化冲突，从而探讨两种不同根源的文化是否能够融合。

在对《喜福会》的研究做了简要介绍之后，本文将探讨母女冲突的原因。通过对母女关系的分析，揭示两国的文化差异和文化根源，深入了解文化差异的原因。此外，三个问题需要进一步讨论。中国传统文化和美国文化分别对母亲和女儿有什么深远影响？两种不同根源的文化能否融合？为什么文化融合是解决文化冲突的好方法以及有哪些解决方式？

总之，迈向命运共同体是一个必然的趋势。因此随着跨文化交流日趋频繁，交际能力也应不断提高。只要文化融合建立在理解，尊重，交流与爱的基础上，那么迈向民与共同体的愿望是触手可及的。
