Title Research on the community elderly care center from the perspective of structural-functional theory —taking Nanjing as an example
Abstract
From the perspective of structural-functional theory, this paper makes a
research combining quantitative and qualitative method. Through
questionnaires and structured interviews on the 4 community elderly care
centers in Nanjing, this paper describes the circle level interactive
structure of it, and concludes the function mode of it. Functions are
including dominant endowment, integrating resources to build old-age
security network, promoting community construction, the hidden enhancing
endowment concept of change, improving endowment service
professionalization and specialization, providing new ideas of social
old-age security, advancing endowment new development of public service.
Also, this paper predicts the center in the future will play social
enterprise function. This paper summarizes the present situation of
endowment patterns in Nanjing and makes a more detailed description on the
home and community based service and adult day care which achieve endowment
function. This paper also puts forward suggestions on optimizing the
function of the center, hoping to help promote social endowment service
mode and the further optimization of the function.
