Mo Yan is one of the earliest writers who approached to films. His novels have been adapted into a large number of film and television works. It can be substantially pided into two periods of his adapted works. There was a harmonious coexistence between literature and films in the 80’s that it could be illustrated by the case of the successful adaption of Red Sorghum, which was written by MoYan. While films’ hegemony inhibited the literature works during the period of the 90’s, which taked the excessive adoption of Happy Times and Cotton Fleece for instance. It reflects the humanistic concern of the director or shows the different cultural conflict from films adapted from MoYan’s novels. Red Sorghum praised vigor of humanity and wakened “Purebred blood” hidden in our national blood. It presented the conflict between urban civilization and the native civilization from the film “Warm” which was adapted from the novel of The White Dog and Swing .
