2.1 Definition of Metaphor
Metaphor is a figure of speech in which one thing is described in terms of another; it points out resemblance but without acknowledging word. It is an implied comparison between two (or more) unlike things, achieved by identifying one with the other. It’s the application of a name of descriptive term to an object or action to which it is not strictly applicable. For example, “money is the lens in a camera.” This sentence indicated that money can reflect the different appearances and reflect the different characteristics of a person.
Metaphor is an ancient art of argumentation and discourse. The earliest known studies of metaphor come from Golden Age, when philosophers of ancient Greece discussed logos, ethos, pathos.
