Abstract With the development of global economy, more and more countries trade with each other。 Business letter as a necessary business communication between all the countries, not only has it the function of transmission of information, but also it can establish relations between cooperation。 94878

This paper analyzes the business letter from the point of view of politeness principle。 The paper will analyze the characteristics of business letter and tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim and sympathy maxim to explore the application of politeness principle in business letter。 It aims to give some supply to the research of how to maximize the function of politeness principle in buseiness letter。

摘要随着世界经济的全球化,越来越多的国家开始进行贸易往来。商务信函作为国际商务交流中的一个重要组成部分,不仅起到传递信息的作用,还能为双方建立稳定的合作关系。

本课题从礼貌原则的角度出发,对英语商务信函进行分析,通过分析商务信函的特点,结合礼貌原则中的策略准则、慷慨准则、赞扬准则、谦虚准则、一致准则和同情准则来探索礼貌原则在于商务信函中正确应用,以期在国际商务交流过程中,对利用礼貌原则来最大限度发挥商务信函作用的研究有所补充。

With the rapid development of the world economy, many countries trade more frequently than before。 Therefore, more and more attention has been paid to business English。 Business English, as one of the necessary communication in the international business, plays an active role in the exchange of ideas, information transmission, negotiation, understanding and promoting economic and trade exchanges。 Not only can business English improve the level of communication in international business negotiations, but also it can serve the international trade better。

 Business letters is an extremely important part in business communication。 In order to promote the communication of business, we should try our best to study on the business letters。 For example, we should analyze the types of business letters, the features of business letters, the formats of business letters and so on。 Only if can we know well and use business letters properly, we can achieve smooth communication in international business communication。
