2.1.2 The social and cultural differences
Social culture is the culture of communication. Different values of social culture to make a huge difference of different social groups between the use of language, and also bring many difficulties in the communication between different cultures. Many English people think, if they have learned grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and native language, they can communicate, in their own culture as the basis, use the language and understand the foreigner's intentions. For example: due to the lack of the speech habits of Americans understand, for they can not be engaged in speaking and cannot use appropriate words to respond to each other's problems. How to establish a suitable social relations and cultural atmosphere of distance is also often know nothing at all, the students understand some implication of discourse errors. Often even the simplest most commonly spoken language I do not know where, for some foreign humor but I do not know what to do, the etiquette but lose etiquette, should not just humble extremely humble. When dining with foreigners, with their used chopsticks dishes to foreigners, we think it is warm, whereas foreigners think it is not health. For example, American life rhythm is quite fast, as the time for the life, people can“make it”,“spent it”but not“lose it”,“waste it”or“kill it”.
