In this paper, the author will pide the article into five parts. The first part is a brief introduction about Hemingway’s status and his some achievements all his life and his most famous work The Old Man and the Sea. The second part is something about Hemingway and The Old Man and the Sea to make people have a profound understanding about this paper. The third part is the most important part of this paper, it is the analysis of the hero’s character. The forth part is the relationship between Hemingway and Santiago. The last part is a conclusion of this paper. The goal of writing this paper is to let people learn Santiago’s spirit of never yielding and establish a positive attitude on life.
