Abstract Humor translation should not be ignored as humor is a significant part of language, especially in this age, where intercultural communication is more and more frequent. The paper attempts to analyze methods in humor translation concerning the translation of The Big Bang Theory (hereafter referred to as TBBT). Because of that, the Skopos theory of German functional approach is introduced—an effective theoretical framework. On the principle of Skopos rules, the translation process is decided by the purpose of translation. Therefore, the translation strategy should be based on the coherence rule and fidelity rule. Five translation strategies are mentioned in this paper: word-for-word translation, domestication, omission, amplification and annotation though analyzing the examples in TBBT.49088

摘要在跨文化交流日益频繁的今天，幽默作为一个语言的重要方面，其翻译不应该被忽视。本文以风靡当下的《生活大爆炸》为案例，分析说明幽默翻译的方法及如何较好地传达原文的幽默效果,详细阐述了德国功能派目的论和在《生活大爆炸》幽默字幕翻译中的应用。目的论指出翻译由目的决定，翻译策略的选择要在满足翻译目的法则的基础上通过对连贯法则和忠实法则的分析衡量来决定。通过对其中多个例子的分析，本文提出三个可行的翻译策略：直译、归化和增译。
