In the current form of internationalization, “ dumb English” can not be adopted under the new situation, and can not meet the needs of students to learn English. English is the door to a language, but it has the same characteristics of other languages. That is, tools and humanity. This feature determines that English teaching has to focus on English communication and expression. How to arouse students enthusiasm of listening and speaking? How to let students have abilities of listening and speaking, and keen on listening and speaking? That is the duty of the English teacher. However, English teaching always pays much attention to exams and grammar rules in the past years. Many students learn“ dumb English” purely. What does students learn through many years’ efforts? They only learn how to do exercises and take examinations. In fact, many nonintellectual factors block students to learn a second language—English. One of the factors is learning interest. Interest is one significant aspect. Interest is the best teacher for study. English, as a tool of communication, should show the essence of communication and return students a blue sky for communication in English. Interest can stimulate certain feelings and arouse some motivation. Having a strong interest will have positive exploration, take the initiative to break through many difficulties and to ask questions. Junior middle school is the starting point of learning English, and students can develop a positive learning habit and improve listening and speaking skills in the most important stage. Therefore, cultivating students’ learning interest in English listening and speaking is quite important and students themselves should pay much attention to learning interest. So the students no longer learn dumb English and students can use English in practice.

II. Theoretical Foundation

    

    Many years ago, there were some people doing some researches about learning interest. And today, there are still people doing researches about that. Then there are some famous theories about learning interest.     

2.1 The Theory of Learning Interest   

    a. The Meaning of Learning Interest

An important component of teaching management is the cultivation of students’ interest, which has an important role in teaching activities. Interest is an special psychological tendency to people. It is an original power to promote people to seek knowledge, learn things and make progress. Interest is also a positive mood in people’s study. Just think, if one person has a strong interest in an activity, he must devote himself to studying in order to have some achievements. Interest is also an result. Therefore, whether as a cause or as an result, learning interest is a “catalyst” and “acceleration” to study and progress. Confucius said," the one who knows it is not as good as who likes it, and one who likes it is not as good as one who enjoys it". The meaning of this sentence is the same truth as that of learning interest that we are advocating, which is to make learners with heat love learn, attain, and develop. The original experience is important for everyone, when they learn the same contents, but what plays a significant role is their attitudes and emotions. So, this attitude might as well call the learning interest. Interest can promote the unknown potential more than any other aspects. Because only you love what you do, you will get what you love. For example, learning to swim or ride a bicycle, if you don’t like them, or you are not interested in it, you will never try to do it, though others say it is so easy or comfortable. But once you are interested in it, you will be brave to try to conquer and never feel tired, even though there are difficulties and obstacles. Thus, interest is important for people to do one thing.
