In conclusion, Fanny is different from other female characters in the Jane Austin’s novel. She was born in a poor family but grew up in a rich environment. Her calm personality and awesome moral spirit leave us a deep impression.
2.2 Morals Reflected in the Mansfield Theatricals
A lot of readers don’t like the Mansfield because of its moral preach. In fact, the book is based on the hierarchy whose core is moral, which is also the frame of the story. Jane Austin is a practical writer. The key words in her novels include class, education, appearance, hierarchy, and elopement, which appear in almost all of her works. However, she never gives her own opinion but in an indirect way to describe the thing she writes. Jane Austin always uses caricature to satire certain phenomenon in reality, which is one kind of her attitude. The heroine in her works almost lives in poverty. Depending on their good character the heroine gets a happy ending.

Jane Austin always makes a reasonable plan and puts the character into a dangerous condition to experience a risk, and then get a good return at the end. Readers make a judgment by themselves through the ending of the story.

2.2.1 Different Attitudes and Behaviors Reflected in the Theatricals
When people put forward the proposal to begin the amateur dramatics, Edmund think it’s not right to do like that. Father had left home and they were in the danger all the time. The situation of Maria deserves worry. A sister of Edmund makes a proposal with Mr. Rushworth. They would announce the information once they go home. Edmond naturally rejects the drama because it goes against morality. Especially the story narrates the script about adultery and illegitimate child. Apart from Fanny and Edmund no one object to the amateur dramatics. Julia knows that Edmund like watching the theater more than anyone. Of course Edmond doesn’t mean that he looks down on their education and decent training. In fact when they are on the stage, all of their moral code will be challenged. The reason that they play the amateur dramatics is not for artistic performance but for coming into the limelight.

In fact most of them know that amateur theatre is more or less wrong but they turn a blind eye. Fanny’s family is poor and she is raised by Sir Thomas’s family. She likes reading books, which makes her form a sharp observation and moral judgment. That’s why Fanny is different from other people and she insists on rejecting to take part in the theatre because Fanny thinks the rehearsal disobeys the morality.

At the beginning Edmund has a sober brain knowing the norms of social moral value. But when Mary appears in front of him, he becomes blind because of his love towards her. Most of the other people try to meet their selfish desires at the cost of corrupting their morality.
