In 1991, Eric Mazur, a world-known physics professor of Harvard University, studied and summarized the two processes of learning: knowledge transmission and internalization, which laid the foundation of the concept of flipped classroom. In 2000, Michael Treglia, Glenn Platt and Maureen Lage asked students to watch the video clip at home and then finished the experiment with their classmates in class. This is the first format of flipped classroom, but there was not specific definition. In 2007, Salman Khan found the Khan Academy, uploading the learning video online to people around the world, and it was the base of flipped classroom. In 2012, Jonathan Bergmann and Aaron Sam published the famous book “Flipped Your Classroom: Reach Every Student in Every Class Every Day”. Thus the flipped classroom gained increasing popularity in America. In addition, many schools employed the new teaching model, such as Clintondale High School, American Highland Village Primary School, and Stone Bridge Primary School (Geng 21).文献综述

While in China, scholars began to pay attention to the flipped classroom in 2012. The author made a research pertaining to flipped classroom on the WANFANG DATA, using the key words, “flipped classroom” and “flipped classroom in senior high school English teaching”, among the total of 5963 dissertations, only 17 were about the implementation in senior high school English teaching. And these researches mainly began in 2012, and sharply rose in 2014 and 2015. With deeper understanding of the pedagogy, many teachers contrived to adopt it in their teaching. And a lot of schools has successfully applied the flipped classroom, such as Chongqing Jukui Middle School, Jiangsu Mudu Senior High School, and Shanxi Xinjiang Middle School, and Zhuhai No.5 Middle School.

However, the teaching cases of flipped classroom abroad were mainly concentrated on science teaching. To apply the flip teaching dialectically can realize the high efficient classroom and achieve the high efficient learning (An 41). And the reverted mode is mainly represented before class and in class (Li 139). And she reckoned that with the deepening of English teaching reform, the flipped classroom teaching model must gain more attention and support from the teaching staffs. By using both quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the data and explore the effective flipped ELT model, it turns out that the flipped ELT model was a practical and technical approach, which stimulated students’ English learning interest and motivated their initiation in English learning (Cao 33). Zhang Jinlei together with his partner Wang Ying and Zhang Baohui summarized a flipped classroom teaching mode. Based on the analysis of literature of flipped classroom and some typical cases, Zhang Jinlei and his partner have summarized a flipped classroom teaching model and described the challenges and implementation of flipped classroom teaching (Zhang, Wang and Zhang 51).来,自|优;尔`论^文/网www.chuibin.com

With the development of information technology, more advanced teaching terminals emerge in society, resulting in the convenience for students to learn the materials at home through the online learning platform, such as Wechat and QQ groups. So in terms of English learning, it requires more interaction with teachers. And students can reach their greatest potential and change their role from listener to participator if the approach is introduced. And this also conforms to the student-oriental teaching idea.
