Abstract
Economic news enables readers to understand the tendency of the world economy and the direction of trade development. Economic news belongs to hard news. The updating rates of various economic events and economic datum are quicker than the general hard news. Therefore, the translator must attach great importance to the timeliness of the news. What's more, the translation version should be brief and concise.
The Skopos theory is the main theory of Functionalism; it breaks the limitation of original text, and asserts to adjust the form of original text to fulfill the purpose of translation, then to get the translation form of economic news with content’s priority. The Skopos theory includes three principles: Skopos principle, coherence principle and fidelity principle.
My thesis is about the research of translation of English economic news from the perspective of Skopos theory. By using the core theory of Functionalist Translation Theory that is the Skopos theory of Hans J. Vermeer, I will combine some typical examples of the translation of English economic news with the theory and analyze the translation methods used in the translation process.

摘要
经济新闻使新闻读者了解世界经济并了解世界贸易发展的方向。经济新闻属于硬新闻。比起通常的硬新闻来说，经济新闻总是有着更快捷的更新率由于各种各样的财经活动的发生。因此，财经新闻的译者必须要极其重视其及时性。并且，译文的版本也要尽可能的短小干练。
然而目的论是功能主义翻译学派的主要理论，它突破了原文的限制，并为了实现翻译目的，主张可以改变原文的形式，从而得出目的论能够指导内容型文本的新闻的翻译。目的论法则包括三法则：目的性法则，连贯性法则以及忠实性法则。其中目的性法则是首要法则。
本文是关于从目的论的角度看英语经济新闻的翻译。在功能主义学派核心理论目的论的指导下，结合若干典型实例来分析在英语经济新闻翻译中将会用到的翻译策略和方法等。
