As an innovative teaching strategy, cooperative learning mode not only can effectively regulate the classroom atmosphere, still can enhance the efficiency of the oral English teaching。 Collaborative model is an effective teaching method to solve the problem, and to improve the students' oral English communicative competence。 Collaborative learning provides a powerful guarantee to enhance students' self-confidence, to promote students' inpidual character development, and to improve students' oral English ability。 Collaborative learning refers to a teaching strategy in which the students are in the dominant position and organized in the form of group, in order to learn from each other, be promoted each other and improve together。 It is a kind of teaching strategies and learning organization form, students having clear pision of work in the group towards a common goal。 It scientifically and reasonably applies the collaborative learning, and promotes the transformation of teaching methods, from the one of instillation to the student’s independence study。 To carry out collaborative learning, the teachers should have clear understanding of their roles, make detailed analysis of the students, understand the principles of classroom activity design, layout appropriate cooperation tasks, organize class activities effectively, and make reasonable and effective evaluation system。 So far, in this field, there are fewer practices in the application of cooperative learning in oral English teaching。 Therefore, this paper is written to build the foundation for subsequent oral English teaching。文献综述

     This paper aims to introduce cooperative learning and its significance, to present the application of cooperative learning in oral English teaching。 

2。 Literature Review

     Since the beginning of 80’s, American scholars, John Dewey, Slavin, R。E, Johnson, have conducted a series of researches on cooperative learning and gained a remarkable achievement。 Wang Tan, Zhao Jianhua, Huang Huairong, our country’s scholars, had introduced the cooperative learning theories into China since 90’s in the last century。 They did a great number of researches and established the theories and strategy of cooperative learning and teaching which was adapted to Chinese educational feature。

2。1 Cooperative learning

     A lot of scholars give cooperative learning different definitions, this thesis tends to agree with Wang Tan’s definition of it。 Wang Tan defined cooperative learning with a teaching strategy system which aims at promoting students’ mutual cooperation in the different groups and reaching a common study target and groups are praised by the total result of groups(Wang Tan,2001)He summarized cooperative learning as a kind of teaching activity taking groups as main body, mutually cooperative activity between companions, target activity, in which teachers assign study task and control teaching progress。

     The theory foundation of cooperative learning refers to these following types。

A。 The theory of depending on each other。

  It means that the group is the whole whose dependence is metabolic, and at the same time that the dependence between each member is disparate。 

B。 The theory of choosing。 

 It is a kind of theory of demand and satisfaction。 The school is required to satisfy students’ need。 On the basis of this theory, the student who doesn’t love studying is not the stupid one but the one who does not want to study。 来*自-优=尔,论:文+网www.chuibin.com

C。 The theory of development。
