Meng Xiaoling published an article named "The application of stick drawing in primary school"in the"educational research"。 She thought stick drawing would create active classroom atmosphere and stimulate students interest in learning and increase charm。 

    Liu Xiaojin published"Turn the abstract to visualize, bring fun to boring"in the primary school curriculum。 He said that in his article, the previous Soviet educators Suhomlinski once thought highly of stick drawing。 Suhomlinski believes that the picture draw down readily has more advantages than ready-made or even colorful pictures。 

Chapter Three The function of stick drawing on primary English teaching

3。1 Promote phonetic teaching

    Stick drawing is mainly for showing the key points of pronunciation。 It is difficult for teacher to tell some pronunciation methods and skills in English。 Students have difficulties in simulating。 It is insufficient for students to imitate the teacher’s mouth only。 The teacher tries to use the stick drawing。 A few strokes outline the change of position of the tongue and lip。 Students not only can understand the contents easily, but also can imitate it。 Students will soon be able to master the methods and features of pronunciation。 And the pronunciation is more accurate。

3。2。1 Teach new words

    Remembering the words is the most important thing in learning English。 But it is the most difficult for students too。 For example, there is a situation in the real classroom teaching: students spend time and energy to remember the words。 But many words have been forgotten after a period of time。 So how to help students remember more words within little time is very important。 Learning is used for expressing ideas and communicating with others。 If the teacher just leads the students  to read and write some words or phrases simply, the students will feel dull。 On the contrary, if the teacher use more exaggerated stick drawing lively, students will leave a deep impression。 For example, when we teach some words about the weather like sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy and snow。 we can model some corresponding simple strokes painting in TV weather icon。 Characteristics of the things are clearly showed on the blackboard with a few simple strokes。 And then the teacher can show the word cards and read the words。 Without translating into Chinese, students also can understand the meaning of words。
