Application of Catalytic Synthesis of Ionic Liquids Salicylate
Abstract:In this paper, methyl salicylate is prepared by taking Salicylic acid and methanol as raw materials, using N-methyl imidazole hydrogen sulfate namely [Hmim]HSO4 ionic liquid as catalyst. The effects of amount of N- methyl imidazole hydrogen sulfate ionic liquid catalyst, mole ratio of reactants, and time on yields of methyl salicylate are investigated comprehensively. The process of preparing methyl salicylate is optimized by orthogonal experiment.At the same time, the optimum conditions are obtained. The results show that the optimum conditions are: the molar ratio of Salicylic acid and methanol of 1∶3, reaction time of 3h, reaction temperature of 130 ºC, amount of ionic liquid of 1mL. Under the optimum conditions, methyl salicylate yield can reach 90%.
