Determination of Calcium content in nuts with Oxygen Bomb Combustion -Ion Selective Electrode
Abstract: In this paper, the calcium content in nuts was determined with a calcium ion selective electrode as the indicator electrode, a saturated calomel electrode as the reference electrode, the samples was ashed by oxygen bomb combustion. The influence of the amount of buffer solution, pH value, interfering ions experiment was discussed. The calcium content in peanuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts was determined, the calcium in almonds was the highest, the calcium in peanuts was the lowest, the recovery was 95.75%~97.23%, the relative standard deviation was 0.82% ~ 1.19%. The method is simple, fast and accurate, can be widely used for the determination of calcium content in foods.
