In China, studies on multimodality began with Li Zhanzi who used systemic functional grammar to study multimodal discourse analysis。 (2003); Hu Zhuanglin explored the distinction between multimodality and multimedia and predicted that mankind will enter a new century of perse social semiotics。 ( 2007 ) Zhu Yongsheng made distinctions between mode, media and multimode, for he thought multimodality theories were too general and the complimentary function was still vague(2009)。 He proposed a complete framework for multimodal analysis in which he also explored the connections between different modes and grammatical construction。 In recent years, more researchers apply multimodal analysis in other field or branches of studies, such as literature(Wang&Yang, 2013), communications( Zheng&Zhang, 2015), language teaching(Dai Shulan, 2011)。
