Abstract:With the development of the society, English learning and teaching have received more and more attention. In China, English learning is mainly carried out in the classroom. Teachers play a very important role in the classroom teaching, and what they say and do will certainly affect the students' English learning effect. In addition to the transmission of information in a vocal language, teachers have another auxiliary language that can not be ignored: body language. Body language refers to users' transmission of information with the help of eyes, expressions, gestures, posture and so on to realize body language’s cognitive function, emotional function and aesthetic function. 

English teachers' proper use of body language can effectively assist classroom teaching, acquire feedbacks and take charge of students’ classroom behavior in time. In order to be better informed of the current application of English teachers’ body language and its effects, based on the observation of all English teachers’ teaching in Xue Jun Primary School, five representatives were selected. Their teaching videos were carefully observed and analyzed. Combining interviews with teachers, the author concluded positive and negative body language of English teachers in primary school, and then offered some practical suggestions.

体态语言在小学英语课堂的现状研究

摘  要:随着近年来社会的发展,英语学习和教学得到了越来越广泛的关注。在中国,英语学习主要还是在课堂中进行。教师在课堂中起着极为重要的作用,一言一行都影响同学们的英语学习效果。而教师在课堂上除了以有声语言传递信息外,还有另一种不能忽视的辅助语言:教师的体态语言。体态语言主要指使用者借助眼神、表情、手势、身姿等来传递信息,进而发挥体态语言的认知功能、情感功能和审美功能。

  教师在课堂教学中恰当地使用体态语言,能有效地辅助课堂讲授,及时获得教学信息反馈和组织学生的课堂行为。为了研究当下英语教师的课堂体态语言的现状,作者通过对学军小学英语教师三个月的观察,最后挑选五位比较有代表性的教师进行随堂听课和观察,并对其课堂录像进行分析比较。最后结合对老师的采访,总结出英语教师常用的积极和消极的体态语言,并给出切实可行的建议。
