A lot of researches on language learning strategies have claimed that learning strategies are of great importance to learn a foreign language. This paper puts junior middle school English reading as the breakthrough point and analyzes problems appearing in English reading comprehension. And then, this paper discusses the strategies to solve the problems in junior middle school English reading learning, aiming to illustrate the importance of junior middle school reading comprehension. To some extent, this paper provides a reference for junior middle school English reading teaching. There are five parts in this paper. In the first part, the significance and background of topic selection are introduced to the readers. The second part is the theoretical framework about paper. In this part, it introduces some English reading teaching strategies, such as, the schema theory, the interactive approach, the top-down approach, the bottom-up approach. In the third part, the problems appearing in junior middle school English reading teaching are listed, and then the cause is discussed in a different way. The fourth part gives a series of countermeasures to figure out the problems in junior middle school English reading teaching. In the end, a conclusion about this paper is made.
