3. The Methods and Skills of Translation
As we all know, it’s not easy to master the English-Chinese translation skills, for there will be many troubles in translating the English text to Chinese one. In addition, because the article may involve extensive knowledge that the translators are not acquainted, it requires translators to search or learn some cultural knowledge and professional knowledge in different fields. If translators do not possess the corresponding cultural knowledge and professional knowledge, translators may get some problems or even joke in English-Chinese translation. So translators need to contrast the different characteristics of languages between English and Chinese so that they can find out the general expression pattern to avoid the mistake in translation. (Xiong Shuying; 2010:01) All of the translation rules are the so-called translation strategies. There are some methods of English-Chinese translation. We should use the appropriate methods to translate the article. To achieve the prospective purposes, translators have the freedom to choose the methods they need—either domestication or foreignization,or both(Liu Hao,2013:2).
