For the moment, there are some difficulties and problems of songs and ballads teaching in the implementation process. So, the teaching plans are needed to be improved continuously. The author analyzes the problems that existed in the English teaching nowadays and give some advices on solving them. To make the class active and attract students’ attention, the author tries to introduce some popular songs into the teaching which are suitable for primary school to learn. 

1.3 Framework

This essay consists of five chapters.

The first part is the introduction which mainly describes the background and the goals of the researches in songs and ballads teaching.

The second part is the literature review, introduces the concept of songs and ballads teaching, the education functions, as well as the related theories about the songs and ballads teaching at home and abroad.

The third part of essay focuses on the current situation,源)自(吹冰+文=论]文]网[www.chuibin.com of songs and ballads teaching in primary schools, and explains the reasons for choosing songs and ballads teaching by combining practical teaching in the classroom. Meanwhile, this part points out the problems and giving out the solutions through the application of the practical teaching.

In the fourth part, the author picks out some suitable songs for English teaching in primary schools and gives brief introductions of the songs.

The last part is conclusion. In this part, the author presents the recommendations to the teaching approaches taken by teachers and emphasizes the importance of learning with joy.
