2。1 English Reading

Carrel (1983) argue that background knowledge is made up by three parts: context resemblance and fluency。 Context means the relevant contents related to the text, familiarity refers to readers’ understanding of the text content, and the diaphaneity of cultural knowledge refers to pick up the textual structure。 Carrel’s theory about three parts are actually the connotation of the general background。 Reading process is to us related language knowledge and other professional knowledge at the same time。 Culture background is a complex social phenomenon, is bound to exist between different social cultural differences。 Culture contains the language knowledge, it is a reflection of culture background, and the tools for exchange idea about culture。 Whatever language be sure to have its’ own part。 In summary, it has a deeply influence to hold the meaning of the paper。 It is directly impact Chinese students understanding of the articles。
